THE FIRST ROOM 2030, THE ROOM OF THE FUTURE, IS INSTALLED IN THE NIEMEYER CENTER OF AVILÉS

GEOPANNEL is the partner in charge of sound and thermal insulation with recycled materials of the latest generation. On a design of Estudio Baragaño Arquitectos, ArcelorMittal is responsible for structures and new developments such as graphene heaters. Cosentino of coatings in natural materials and composites,Ecus, resting systems and modular furniture and with probiotic, adaptive technologies, etc. Geopannel, NormaGrup of home automation and circadian lighting,Roca of the toilets of the future and Saint-Gobain of the last generation glazed surfaces. LA ROOM will serve as a room of the Hotel Palacio de Avilés as a user partner of the consortium.

THE ROOM 2030 is actually a laboratory loaded with different partner technologies to test them together in a real environment.

In the presentation, the city council of Avilés, the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Principality of Asturias and the Ministry of Industry have highlighted the cooperation between companies in various sectors.

Avilés (Asturias), 31 January 2020.- The first Room 2030, the room of the future fruit of the cooperation of the innovation and technology departments of companies leaders in its sectors, has been installed today outside the International Cultural Center Oscar Niemeyer, located in Avilés (Asturias). This first room can be used, so that the technological solutions integrated in the module are tested in a real environment and thus evaluate the interaction with users.
Room 2030 is the result of a technology and innovation consortium composed of ArcelorMittal, Cosentino, Ecus, Estudio Baragaño, Geopannel, NormaGrup, Roca, Saint-Gobain, hotel Palacio de Avilés and Jansen and Aretha (as supplying partners). Room 2030 responds to the demands of sustainability, connectivity, health, flexibility and permanent innovation by integrating cutting-edge technology at every moment that improves people's habitat and lives.
Each of the partners brings its innovations: new materials such as ultra-compact surfaces and graphene, mobile modular elements in the design, 3D metal manufacturing, natural and recyclable materials, toilets without cistern, recreation of natural light inside, luminaires that take care of health, glass that becomes opaque or transparent depending on the needs, a new concept of rest, home automation, internet... Technological elements have been sought that favor the maintenance and replacement of components, a technology very accessible and non-invasive and that keeps the user always connected with naturalness, all designed for the well-being of people.

Representatives of the consortium's companies and local, regional and state administrations took action this morning at the Niemeyer Cultural Center itself. Thus, the mayor of Avilés, Mariví Monteserín, has said that "we are facing a new conception and dimension of business collaboration, which is the one that wants to consolidate the Avilés-I sla Technological Science Parkof Innovation. That's why Room 2030 is so tied to the industrial conception of Avilés."
The Director General of Industry and Small and Medium Enterprise of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Galo Gutiérrez-Monzonís,has highlighted the example of collaboration between companies and the connection of the principles that inspire Room 2030 with the policies to drive innovation in the central government industry.
Theteam of Science, Innovation and University of the Government of the Principality of Asturias, Borja Sánchez, has called the consortium "a pioneering and great initiative", put at the service of enhancing and making the innovation of companies more public. The advisor has praised The double benefit of Room 2030 as a wealth generator and focus of talent attraction.

Living lab and innovation platform
Room 2030 is both an experimentation laboratory for the solutions and products of the consortium companies (living lab) and an open innovation platform. Thus, you can identify solutions beyond the consortium partners, with the contribution, for example, of research that takes place in the university field, innovation centers, startups, etc.
The combination of industrial partners and user partners (the hotel) allows to test technological innovations in a real environment and brings unprecedented added value to the laboratory.
The origin of the consortium dates back to 2014, when it was installed at the R&D center of ArcelorMittal in Avilés the B-home, in which GEOPANNEL participated with its greener insulators, a modular construction demonstrator, designed in collaboration with the architecture studio Baragaño. In 2018 the need arose by the Hotel Palacio de Avilés (in the world's Top10 of NH Hotels) to expand the number of rooms. Theexpansion project has 22 rooms, which were thought to add a twenty-third room, which would act as a technology laboratory.
On 24 April 2019, the first meeting of the Consortium was held at ArcelorMittal's R&D headquarters in Avilés. Since then all partners have worked together to create a first module, which has been installed in the Niemeyer Center, a cultural complex that constitutes the only work of the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer in Spain.
Room 2030 has the vision to become a comprehensive technological solution that allows to manufacture intelligent rooms in a sustainable, fast and efficient way, uniting the harmony of design and healthy habitat with border technology, the digitization and connectivity. In a first stage it is aimed at the hotel sector, although in an immediate period they will be directed to other sectors where their activity revolves around a room: residences of students, elderly and hospitals.
The intensive use of a room, as is the case of a hotel, allows testing the behavior of materials and solutions to analyze durability, obsolescence and maintenance. We are looking for materials that can be replaced and rooms that can be updated periodically so that the customer has renovated spaces and the hoteliers of products for a longer period in the amortization of assets.

GEOPANNEL ADQUIRES INDUSTRIAL LAND FOR A NEW FACTORY OPERATING IN 2017

Always betting on growth, in GEOPANNEL we have recently acquired industrial land that ensures plenty of space for our plans to expand in the coming years.
We have arranged a first phase of 12,000 m2 of new facilities, that will be operational in the middle of 2017. Within this phase, will give 7,000 m2 for a new area of manufacturing of insulating for both sectors, automobile and construction and to end of this year 2016, We?ll mount a 5.000 m2 new warehouse of finished goods.
Our idea is to continue to grow in all sectors, so we have reserved land thinking in a second phase, to be run according to our plan for growth around the years 2018-2019. In that time, our plan is open other sections productive until reaching 26,000 m2 of facilities.

THE MAGIC OF WOOD

Francesc Farré and Angel Asensio's study of architecture, under the motto: "Each person is unique, as your home should be", has created for Anna Maria Rusiñol a House in two plants with structure of light wood isolated with GEOPANNEL in facade, cover and interior walls.

The place chosen is GIRONELLA, "the Pearl of the Llobregat", and the constructor, Ramon Colell, of the company marble 94, S.L. -that usually relies in our ecological GEOPANNEL?s products, has materialized the super design, combining it with the maximum energy efficiency.

The building has been isolated with GEOPANNEL PYL, 150 mm of facade and cover.

The interior of the "property" is dominated by the soft shades and oby color white, combined with the color of the wood? a pleasant sensation of comfort to the home. High-purity exterior lines, combine whites and wood in a sober and elegant way.

Congratulations!: A great job to enjoy a living!

Holding the recycled cotton composition, GEOPANNEL new products have been created from an aesthetic point of view thinking solving acoustical problems for commercial buildings, bars, restaurants, hotels, concerts hall, offices and facilities , theaters and movie theatres.

We will also present a new innovative system of acoustic measurement.

While the new European regulation backs the fight against noise pollution, Spain continues as the noisiest country in the world after Japan.
In seeking this acoustic conditioning quality, new concepts GEOPANNEL are the perfect tool to soundproof commercial premises, bars, restaurants or public spaces.

ACUSTIC LABORATORY WITH ALPHA CABINE

ACUSTIC LABORATORY WITH ALPHA CABINE

As part of our strategy of product development, we have undertaken the investment required to install a SOUND LAB either for experimental and best performance in the design of our insulation products.

Since January 2015 our test lab is fully operational, including an ALPHA CABIN.
In GEOPANNEL we decided to install the best available technology despite the huge investment that this supposes, because it allows us to measure sound absorption in diffuse field, much more accurate and closer to reality than the cheapest impedance tubes that can only measure a single angle.

After a few months of test and calibration, we have the installation available both for our tests of internal development and for the developments of our clients to which we offer the opportunity to accumulate added value with their designs.

The enclosures of our laboratory have been built with soundproofing materials GEOPANNEL® INPAT® and supervised by BLUENOISE, an acoustics engineering company with which we have reached a partnership agreement in order to join developments, prescribing and saving costs conditioning premises. We will post soon about our great progress.

The challenge has been to build an absolutely silent enclosure within a particularly noisy industrial area and with our own factory in the same building. The result has been a resounding success. We have used new materials that disconnect the walls, laid anti-impacts sheets underneath the concrete and we also have unconnected each plasterboard with 5 mm sheets of GEOPANNEL®. We have also combined densities, installed a self-supporting absorbent ceiling and acoustic doors with internal absorbers.
An oasis of silence without losing living space and saving 30% in materials.

Later this year, once we pass the period of the norm, we will obtain the ENAC certificate for laboratory and measurement systems.
